Event Policies & Code of Conduct

We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for all attendees. By attending, you agree to adhere to this Code of Conduct to ensure a positive experience for everyone. 

Core Values and Goals: At the KCA Animal Model Workshop, we aim to foster a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment that explores current trends and future directions in kidney cancer. Our community, which includes leading experts from academia, clinical care, industry, and advocacy, is dedicated to exchanging innovative ideas and pushing boundaries to advance kidney cancer care. 

Expected Behavior: 

  • Conduct yourself in a professional and respectful manner at all times. 
  • Treat all participants, including attendees, speakers, staff, and vendors, with courtesy and respect. 
  • Actively participate in sessions and discussions, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere. 
  • Respect the views and opinions of others, even if they differ from your own. 
  • Follow all event-related instructions from staff and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the venue. 

Unacceptable Behavior: 

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind, including but not limited to sexist, racist, or exclusionary comments or actions. 
  • Physical or verbal abuse of any participant, attendee, speaker, or staff member. 
  • Disruption of presentations, sessions, or other events organized by KCA Animal Model Workshop. 
  • Inappropriate use of technology and social media, including the sharing of confidential or proprietary information without permission. 
  • Any other behavior that would be deemed unprofessional or inappropriate in a business or academic setting. 

Reporting Procedures: If you experience or witness any unacceptable behavior, please report it as soon as possible. You can: 

  • Contact any of the Kidney Cancer Association (KCA) staff members directly. 
  • Email your concern to slarosa@kidneycancer.org. 

All reports will be treated seriously and investigated promptly. Your confidentiality will be respected to the fullest extent possible. 

Consequences: Participants who violate this Code of Conduct may be subject to appropriate action, including but not limited to: 

  • Warning the offender. 
  • Expulsion from the conference without a refund. 
  • Banning from future KCA events.
