Introduction
Join us for the RCC Animal Model Workshop, taking place September 11-13, 2025, at UT Southwestern Medical Campus. This focused, high-impact event brings together leading researchers, clinicians, and industry experts to advance the understanding and application of animal models in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) research. By fostering collaboration and standardization, this workshop aims to improve the classification and characterization of RCC models, ultimately supporting breakthrough discoveries and therapeutic advancements.
The RCC Animal Model Workshop is designed for researchers, oncologists, and industry professionals committed to improving preclinical modeling for RCC. Through expert-led discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions, participants will gain valuable insights into the latest developments in RCC models and their role in driving innovative treatments. This represents an opportunity to connect with thought leaders, share knowledge, and contribute to the future of RCC research.
An Invite-only Event
Invitation-only: This hands-on workshop is designed specifically for researchers who actively develop and utilize animal models in RCC. It serves as a focused space to advance RCC-specific models and is not intended for general attendance. We’ve designed targeted activities and working groups aimed at supporting the classification and consolidation of information, which will be compiled and shared following the workshop.
Are you a researcher interested in participating?
If you are developing new animal models for any subtype of kidney cancer, including GEMM, Somatic, PDX, Humanized, or Organoid models, and are interested in sharing your latest unpublished results with a leading group of RCC animal model experts, we invite you to participate! By sharing latest research and collaborating to classify, characterize, and validate RCC animal models, we aim to provide a detailed overview of the field, drive innovative research and enhance the translatability of therapeutics to the clinic. This exclusive, hands-on workshop, led by experts in RCC and animal model development, offers a limited number of slots for researchers to present their findings.
If you are interested to participate, please submit a cover letter describing your professional background, and the animal model work you wish to present at the workshop to Dr. Salvatore La Rosa at
slarosa@kidneycancer.org by June 1st, 2025.
