Teresa Alonso Gordoa is a specialist in medical oncology at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital, based in Madrid. Her healthcare and research activity focuses mainly on the treatment of patients with urological and endocrine tumours. She graduated in Medicine in 2008 from the University of Navarra and completed her MIR training in Medical Oncology at the Hospital Clínico Universitario San Carlos (2009-2013). She is a clinical lecturer at the University of Alcalá de Henares and is involved in residents training since 2017. Between 2020-2021 she was scientific secretary of SEOM and member of the the Germinal Group board. Since 2024 she is a member of the GETNE (Spanish Group of Neuroendocrine and Endocrine Tumours) board and coordinates the renal cancer working group of the GUARD Consortium (GU Alliance for Research and Development), national cooperative groups. Member of the Molecular Pathology of Cancer Group at IRYCIS (Ramón y Cajal Institute for Biosanitary Research). Collaborating researcher in R+D+i projects, as well as principal investigator of clinical trials in different phases of development and coordinating researcher in privately funded projects related to kidney cancer (molecular studies to better characterise kidney cancer from a genetic, epigenetic and metabolomic point of view, and evaluation of the response to treatments) and prostate cancer (clinical studies related to exercise, nutrition and translation of results to clinical trials).
