Viraj Master is Professor and the Fray Marshall Chair in Urologic Research at Emory University. He is also the Associate Chair and Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Urology at Emory. He has authored over 400 scientific manuscripts, recently focusing on host-tumor interactions and cancer immunology, and is currently funded by the NIH and DOD. He edited a book on groin dissection for cancer and holds 2 patents. Clinically, he is focused on advanced kidney cancer, particularly tumors involving the vena cava (IVC) having personally performed more than 400 cases. He is also focused on rare cancers, including adrenal, testicular and penile cancer, where he and colleagues first reported radical endoscopic groin dissection for cancer.

In addition, Dr. Master is a board-certified acupuncturist and is the founding Director of Integrative Oncology and Survivorship of the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, which has performed over 8000 patient encounters since the program founded in 2022.
