Prof. Manuela Schmidinger, MD

Manuela Schmidinger is Professor of Medicine and specialises in Internal Medicine,
Medical Oncology and Intensive Care Medicine. She is currently leading
the clinical and research program for systemic treatment of renal cell carcinoma at the Department of Urology, Medical University of Vienna.

Her research interests include prognostic factors and treatment in RCC, checkpoint
inhibitors, tyrosine kinase inhibitor and check point inhibitors-related side effects, and strategies to achieve long-term survival in metastatic RCC.

Professor Schmidinger is the author or co-author of more than 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology, British Journal of Cancer, Leukaemia&Lymphoma etc.

Within the past 15 years, Professor Schmidinger has had more than 700 invited lectures related to renal cell carcinoma management around the globe. Among these are invited lectures at ASCO and ESMO.

She is also co-author of the European Guidelines for Kidney Cancer Treatment and the author or co-author of four books in the field of immunology and oncology, including a textbook
on targeted agents in kidney cancer.
