Dr. Raquibul Hannan is a Professor of Radiation Oncology, Urology and Immunology at UT Southwestern medical center and Simmons comprehensive cancer center in Dallas, Texas. He has completed his undergraduate Bachelors of Science training at New York University followed by MD-PhD training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He completed his residency training in Radiation Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As the Chief of Genitourinary Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, he specializes in the treatment of kidney cancer with stereotactic radiation. The focus of his translational research is to find new applications of stereotactic radiation and to develop strategies to harness the immunogenic effects of stereotactic radiation to enhance its in-situ cancer vaccination effects that can improve cancer immunotherapy. His clinical and translational research is funded by NIH, CPRIT, DOD and ACS. Dr. Hannan has published more than 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He holds multiple national and international patents. He has completed multiple early phase clinical trials on the application of stereotactic radiation therapy for all stages of kidney cancer. He is currently the PI of an ongoing ECOG-ACRIN NCI phase 3 randomized trial of stereotactic radiation versus systemic therapy for oligometastatic RCC (NCT0586335).
